In Ovo is working on animal welfare in the poultry sector with the Ella machine. In Ovo has raised several millions to roll out the technology internationally. In Ovo is a Dutch AgTech scale-up based in Leiden, which develops high-tech solutions to improve animal welfare and sustainability in the poultry sector. After nearly ten years of development, In Ovo’s Ella machine produced the first cull-free chicks in Q4, 2020. Since then, a much improved Ella machine has been developed with increased capacity to meet the high production volumes of modern farms.
